About Glenn B Swift
I see Celebrancy as a natural extension of my profession as a Storyteller, and an opportunity to create simple magic around the formality of the legal union of two humans in love who are prepared to commit for life. Just like swans.
My impetus for completing the Celebrancy training came from my Godson, who asked me to perform his marriage in 2014. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to perform marriages for many wonderful people- some are children of friends, some word of mouth recommendations, some who’ve found me by happy accident and chosen me as right for them.
I get excited for them and with them, because it’s like planning something between a really good party and a play for two lovers, a narrator and a happy crowd. There’s a reason every Shakespeare romance ends with a wedding.
While it’s a legal responsibility (mine) to get the paperwork, application and registration exact, it’s like making two new friends and guiding them to the moment of their marriage.
Ceremonies & Events
I love a good wedding, and I cringe at a bad one. I became a celebrant because I knew I could perform this most important ritual in a way which would include every person attending as a contributing presence while maintaining the focus entirely on the two major players.
I like to think that the weight of my words when I speak the marriage of two people actually makes me less obvious as the Celebrant, despite that I’m standing right behind them at the moment of union.

I am a professional Storyteller, and I bring these skills to the ceremonies of Marriage, Renewal, Baby Naming and Death. Life’s milestones, from cradle to grave, in every aspect must be successfully celebrated, solemnly ritualised, marked with appropriate Joy.

A Celebrant for all occasions…
I live in Fremantle and I’m happy to meet for a first interview at my home or over coffee. Meeting in person before the Notice of Intended Marriage is filled is very desirable, but not essential. We can meet first by Skype, even if you’re living outside of Australia and travelling here to get married.
